Sweet and lovely Family layouts - July Country Chic Kit

It's Tracy Funk here today with my first project with the beautiful Scraps of Elegance July Kit, Country Chic featuring 49 and Market Cottage Life paper.

Tom and May

I used the Main Kit, Floral Add-on, Elements Add-on and Coordinating Paper Add-on.

Coordinating Paper Add-on

I started with the Garland paper from the Coordinating Paper Add-on.  I did some stamping that didn't turn out the way I had planned so I gessoed over it and inked it slightly with some pink chalk-ink.  I then die-cut two large circles out of the Garden Seeds paper (from the Coordinating paper add-on) and Branching Out paper (from the Main Kit), layered them over black cardstock copies and glued them onto the background.  I also used the Garden Seeds paper to die-cut some leaves.
I primed the chipboard fence (from the Main Kit) with clear gesso and then applied DecoArt white crackle paint.  I also inked around the edges slightly with charcoal grey.  The center of the fence would have been hidden under the photo anyway, so I cut it out to save for another layout and glued the end pieces to the page.

I cut a mat for the photo out of the gingham paper included in the Main Kit and then glued it to a sheet of plain chipboard for stability.  I used foam tape under this to balance the photo.
The corner flourishes and buttons were from my stash.  Most of the flowers, with the exception of a couple of 49 and Market flowers from my stash, were from the Floral Add-on.
The clothespins were from the Main Kit and the butterfly from the Elements Add-on.

Here is my second layout.....

"That Would Be Nice"

When my son, Evan, was little, he used to say "That would be nice" a lot.  The expression on his face in this picture makes me imagine him saying that, hence the name of this layout.
This is my second layout this month using the beautiful Scraps of Elegance July kit, "Country Chic", featuring 49 and Market Cottage Life paper.  I used the Main KitPatterned Paper Add-onCoordinating Paper Add-onElements Add-on and Floral Add-on.

Patterned Paper Add-on
Coordinating Paper Add-on
Elements Add-on
Floral Add-on
I started with the beautiful Provence paper from the Main Kit and did some stenciling with molding paste on the background.  I went over the stenciled areas with some watercolour to make them stand out more.

I used another sheet of the Provence paper from the Patterned Paper Add-on to make some of the die-cuts.  The Bicycle Ally paper and Garland paper from the Coordinating Paper Add-on were used to make the other die-cuts.  I layered each die-cut over a black cardstock copy, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges.

The two small chipboard flourishes were from my stash.  I embossed these with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Pop Rock Purple embossing powder included in the Main Kit.

All the other embellishments were in the Main Kit or Add-ons.  I sprayed the green roses from the Main Kit with some Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist to dull the colour slightly and brushed the tips of the petals with white paint.

Thank you so much for taking a look today!

Mixed Media layout and sweet cards - June Birds of a Feather kit

Nicole here again today to share with you
another layout created with the Scraps of Elegance June kit.

I was inspired by a mood board and sketch.  I love the beautiful feathery designs of the BoBunny Serendipity papers and all the die-cuts and chipboard shapes that went along with it.
I thought they were perfect for creating a whimsical and rustic page with a shabby chic twist to express the 'peace in my heart'.

The Scraps of Elegance main kit and floral add-on contain
gorgeous blooms from Prima, Petaloo and 49 and Market.
It is no surprise that flowers are my #1 crafty embellishment!

I sprinkled a fair share of glitter glass I received in a previous kit
and sprayed on some white mist over my embellishments.

I found that this quote was a great complement to my overall design as well as the photo used that was taken at dusk on the boardwalk in my town. I try to find peace within myself every day which is a challenge, but sure is worth it in the end. Creating art always brings me a sense of peace and I'm ever so grateful for the ability (thank you Scraps of Elegance) and the inspiration to create.

With a kit called 'Birds of a Feather' and the lovely bird die cuts
from the BoBunny Serendipity collection included in the June
Scraps of Elegance kit, I just knew that I had to create this card set!

I created 3 birthday cards (sentiment in french), each one
with different color birds and birdhouse on a ivory and yellow base.

I think this one is my favorite simply because I love the look of this green birdie in flight.  In the BoBunny chipboard set from the kit, there are some framed images of the same birds. I used one on each card to match the die cut.

I love creating cards with leftovers from the kit.
I had more than enough die cuts, stickers, chipboard shapes, flowers to use on these cards, and I certainly could create more.

And there  you go!

This concludes my DT work with the Scraps of Elegance June kit.

Mixed Media Monday - June Birds of a Feather kit

Hello there, Lisa here to share that I made using
the 'Birds of a Feather' kit from Scraps of Elegance using the BoBunny collection called 'Serendipity'.

'Always follow your dreams...'

I cut out the two blue birds from one of the kit papers and glued them down the sides, I adore anything with birds as that's Liam's nick name he's had since he was this small :)
I added some heavy white gesso and some watercolors and then added a clock chipboard and a sweet title from 2 Crafty, some BoBunny die cuts and chipboards
from the Main kit, and some flowers from one of our previous kits.

You can find our kits and many more crafty supplies at the
Scraps of Darkness online store here.

Here are a few close ups:

here is my next layout created with the Scraps of
Elegance kit 'Birds of a Feather'.

'My Happy Place'

Even though this kit had a lot of BoBunny papers from the 'Serendipity' collection, there's still so many different ways to go as far as themes for your pages.  I saw the natural sandy colors and the wood pattern of this paper, and thought about making a layout with a real summer feel to it. I used some graduating circles chipboard by Blue Fern Studios that I bought from the Scraps of Darkness store, some cotton lace and lots of flowers to give the page some softness. I also used the BoBunny papers, die cuts, stickers, the Tim Holtz Mini Ink Distress Pad, the Queen & Company blue gems, and Blue Fern Studios 'Garden Bloom'
chipboard all from the main kit, and the Gabrielle Pollaco stamp and tiny glass bottles from the Elements Add-On.

Here are a few close ups:

I hope I inspired you a little!
See you soon,

Two Happy & Inspiring Layouts - June Birds of a Feather kit

I am back today with some more inspiration featuring the Scraps of Elegance Birds of a Feather kit.

For this layout, I combined roses and leaves patterns and added the gorgeous chipboard piece from the Elements add-on.I simply colored it with Copic markers and then dabbed a bit of white.

This piece of Prima MetalWare, also from the Elements add-on,was the perfect addition to my page amid gorgeous roses from the Floral Add-On.

I added some stenciling on my backgroundand used many of the butterfly die cuts and chipboard shapes.

This picture was taken almost 10 years ago, near this time of year.   How time flies!

Here is the 'Birds of a Feather' kit and the add-on kits, with which I've created this layout and the other projects I will be sharing with you.

Hello, scrappy peeps!
I hope you're having a good week.

Sandi here with you, sharing my next project using the June Scraps of Elegance Kit "Birds of a Feather." And of course, lots of the add-ons!

This is my granddaughter, MacKayla. My photos unfortunately don't capture how pretty this layout is in real life. It has lots of dimension and interest as well as a fair amount of sparkle.

I used the BoBunny Serendipity Love as my base and layered it with some punched Aviary Paper from the same collection. After doing my background mixed media work, I layered Branches and Treetops under my photo.

The Blue Fern Studios Curling Corner chipboard piece is from the Elements add-on and was heat embossed with the Blue Fern Studios Summer Breeze embossing powder from the Color add-on. I've used lots of blooms from the Main Kit as well as from the Floral add-on. Coordinating chipboard and ephemera were tucked in randomly here and there.

This is a pretty good close up of the mixed media work I did.  Stencils and mists were from my stash but I did use the awesome 49 and Market Script Squared stamp from the Elements add-on.

You can see I let loose and had some splatter fun on this one!

My photos are less than stellar this time. I am having computer issues which are causing me a few hurdles this week.

I enjoy showing you all the dimension created by the elements used on my projects! I love getting all the add-ons and having plenty of options on my projects!

Here is a photo of this month's Kit. Last time I checked there was at least one available. Better hurry on over to the STORE if you want to snag one!

Thanks for coming by today!
See you next time.
